SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

The Software & Consulting division offers development of dedicated IT systems, tailored to the needs and requirements of specific customers, system and application support services, competence outsourcing and comprehensive IT consulting.

The Software & Consulting team is composed of experienced and respected experts, including analysts, architects and developers. All Altkom Akademia products are based on world-class quality assurance systems and comply with ISO 9001-2000 requirements.

The Software & Consulting division delivers projects for customers across Europe. The company takes pride in having developed many solutions for the largest Polish telecoms and leading financial institutions.

IT consulting

• Pre-deployment analysis – these services include business process modeling, business need analysis, functional requirement analysis, feasibility studies, planned change impact analysis and/or IT architecture tailoring.
• Project management – consulting services to support the customer in choosing the right solutions and providers, ongoing expertise support for Project Manager, periodical evaluation of design progress, project deployment supervision, as well as acceptance test assistance.
• IT system audits – substantial evaluation of technological solutions as regards their architecture, technology, performance and security.

Design and deployment of IT systems

This Altkom Software & Consulting team focuses on designing, developing and deploying solutions that streamline critical business processes. They use the following solutions:

• Microsoft technologies (Microsoft Development Center) – the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status obtained by Altkom ensures high quality of services provided by the company’s consultants. The certificate also ensures efficient deployment of projects based on a comprehensive portfolio of Microsoft technological solutions, such as:

Technology support

• Ongoing IT system support – this service was designed to ensure the maximum level of technical and organizational support for business-critical applications
• Upscaling of supported systems – ALTKOM Software & Consulting provides IT system upscaling services allowing for aligning system functionalities with the requirements on an ongoing basis. As a result, the customer is able to maintain the value of its IT system
• Competence outsourcing – this service allows Altkom to provide its customers with experts having specific skills necessary to support projects deployed by the customers. This includes project managers, analysts, architects, developers, quality assurance experts, and system deployment experts.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

Altkom Akademia’s educational offer contains approx. 600 unique and authorized training courses for IT users and professionals, as well as business courses related to organization management, project management and business process analysis. The company also offers training courses developing personal and social skills, to complement technical and business skills.

Most courses are delivered in 8 training centers located in major Polish cities. The company uses its own infrastructure of 90 training rooms featuring 1000 stand-alone workstations.

Altkom Akademia’s trainers also deliver onsite courses at the Customer’s (the company has 10 full-featured mobile training rooms).

IT courses

IT courses include programs designed for IT professionals (developers, administrators, etc.), as well as standard IT solution users. The majority of IT educational courses are preparatory courses for professional certificates. At present, Altkom Akademia offers the largest selection of certificates and authorizations of all recognized technology providers in the market, including:

Business training courses

The portfolio of Altkom Akademia’s business training courses includes programs developing various skills such as organization management, project management and business process analysis, etc. The company is a PRINCE2™ and PMI® expert. As regards the PRINCE2™ methodology, Altkom has the status of an Accredited Training Organization (ATO) delivering PRINCE2™ courses and exams on Foundation and Practitioner levels.

Interpersonal skill training courses

Altkom Akademia also delivers personal and social skill programs (e.g. negotiations, communication, assertiveness, etc.), complementing customers’ business and technical skills.

E-learning

The closed training courses delivered by Altkom Akademia are based on e-learning tools. The scope of services depends on customer’s needs. The projects can be delivered using a strictly e-learning model or a mixed model. Altkom Akademia provides also tailored e-learning courses. The content of the courses is tailored to the needs of a specific company. This type of training courses is characterized by a high degree of interactivity (multimedia techniques, simulation and audio elements).

Projects financed by the European Social Fund (ESF)

In 2005-2008, the total budget of projects deployed by Altkom Akademia within the framework of ESF was nearly PLN 100 million. As a result, more than 23,000 people working for 3000 companies in Poland chose Altkom’s educational services.

"Program wspierania wykorzystania narzędzi i metodyk informatycznych w przedsiębiorstwach” (Program supporting the use of IT tools and methodologies in businesses) was the largest project financed by ESF. The program was developed within the framework of the “Sectoral Operational Programme – Human Resources Development 2004-2006”.

Other projects financed by ESF included: "Profesjonalizm w Zarządzaniu Projektami" (Professional Project Management) – shaping and developing Project Manager skills

"Akademia wiedzy informatycznej dla pracowników sektora bankowości spółdzielczej" IT expertise academy for cooperative banking sector employees.

INTEGRATION SERVICES

Altkom’s Systems - Solutions and Services division focuses on the main areas: ensuring IT continuity and security, providing infrastructure management systems and providing user communication and collaboration tools.
