IT CONSULTING

Altkom Software & Consulting provides customers with a full range of IT project management services. We use processes based on acknowledged standards, such as PMBOK and PRINCE2. The work progress monitoring tools support efficient project risk management at each stage of IT system development and organizational change introduction. By using a proactive approach, we can forecast and control the total cost and time of project completion, as well as minimize the associated risk.

We have completed numerous projects for Polish, European and global companies and gained extensive experience in managing IT projects and introducing organizational changes related to these projects. During contract delivery, we take full responsibility for project management, or provide support for the project manager appointed by the customer. Our responsibilities include defining requirements, preparing work schedules, ongoing supervision of work progress, and risk management.

Services

The choice of an appropriate management methodology depends on the project scope, time effort, predicted delivery time, and work organization methods. The final decision is tailored to the customer requirements.

Since the very beginning of a project, we act within the planning, execution and supervision cycle.

  • Planning – focuses on defining the scope of the project, order of tasks and their schedule, estimating costs and drafting a budget, identifying risks, preliminary definition of countermeasures, accepting quality standards, creating and launching the project team, and designing methods for obtaining alternative resources.
  • Execution – this entails implementation of individual actions defined during the planning stage and constant improvement of productivity, as well as broadening competencies of project team members, and continuous analysis of project works quality.
  • Supervision – its main purpose is to coordinate inevitable changes of the project scope and requirements, methods of satisfying them, and resources required for completing project tasks. This also includes managing the risk present during project deployment, and periodical reporting on the project status to all shareholders.

Project completion is an administrative task of archiving project task outcomes. Another important goal is also converting project experiences into universal practices that must be taken into account during future projects.

Projects managed by Altkom Software & Consulting are supported by the Project Management Office – PMO, supervised by certified project managers. PMO provides customers with assistance and access to various tools that can be used for ongoing project tasks.

The fundamental benefit of project management services for our customers is the possibility to focus on issues that are critical to the success of the project, while a hired project manager coordinates project tasks or prepares for introducing organizational changes. Thanks to such an approach project managers provide an excellent example of task organization – the business manager makes decisions in situations specific to the needs of a given customer, while the project manager carries out project tasks, relying on his/her own experience and competencies in the area of project management methodology application. In this way we can avoid situations, when the project manager is too busy attending organizational issues that he cannot participate in the process of making strategic decisions influencing the direction of project implementation.

Business support improves the chances of successfully completing the entire project, and by using PMO services, customers are sure they receive high-quality documents to be used as the basis for project works.
